Disciple Team Coordinator
Position Overview
Disciple Team Coordinators are responsible for engaging, equipping, and encouraging high school and junior high students in their faith and volunteer work at Trout. Each summer around 350 students from all over Minnesota choose to work and volunteer at Trout, approximately 100 per week. Disciple Team Coordinators work and live alongside these students as a team of 5 to lead, direct and maintain this unique camp community for those students.
You love Jesus. You trust the Bible as God's Word. And you don't just want a "summer job" where you punch in and punch out. You want to develop your skills and grow in your walk with Christ in an awesome community of peers who can support and encourage you.
You're motivated to share your faith in a way that impacts the lives of teenagers. All you've been missing is a place to put it all together. This summer on staff at Trout Lake Camps as a Disciple Team Coordinator could be that place.
This is an entry-level, summer-only role. An initiative to learn and grow is required to be successful.
Who You Are:
- A committed Christ-follower who displays a commitment and attitude of reflecting Jesus
- A diligent servant who is energized by team fellowship & collaboration
- An individual who can be trusted to follow established rules, policies, and procedures to keep staff and campers safe
- A person who prefers outdoor work with their hands versus working behind a desk or staring at screen
- A person with a valid driver's licensed with no more than one moving violation in the last year
- A person who is not intimated by talking with parents of teens.
What You'll Do:
- Attend staff training (begins late May)
- Engage students daily in their faith with Jesus.
- Organize, develop, and deliver Biblically sound daily devotionals
- Ensure each Disciple Team student is engaged in their assigned weekly jobs and tasks. Pushing them for growth while loving them like Jesus.
- Work alongside Disciple Team members daily in their work areas
- Continuously monitor, identify and report hazards and safety concerns
- Organize daily meetings that are engaging, fun, and communicate relevant camp information
- Drive camp vehicles including cars, vans, wagons, and pontoon boats
- Assist in other program areas of need including serving as a cabin buddy, chapel times, camp-wide games, driving camp wagons, and opening & closing day responsibilities
