Cabin Leader

Position Overview

Cabin Leaders at Trout are responsible for the personal care, safety, camp experience,
and spiritual discipleship of a cabin of boys or girls for a week of summer camp.

You love Jesus. You trust the Bible as God's Word. And you don't just want a "summer
job" where you punch in and punch out. You want to develop your skills, grow in your
walk with Christ in an awesome community of peers who can support and encourage
you.

You're motivated to share your faith in a way that impacts the lives of kids and teenagers.
All that you've been missing is a place to put it all together. This summer on staff at Trout
Lake Camps as a Cabin Leader could be that place.

This is an entry-level, summer-only role. No prior experience or training is required,
but an initiative to learn and grow is required to be successful.

Who You Are:

  • A committed Christ-Follower with a commitment and attitude of reflecting Jesus
  • A diligent servant who is energized by being around kids and teens
  • A committed learner who isn't rattled by a fast-paced, flexible environment
  • A person who prefers outdoor activities
  • At least 18 years old OR has a High School Diploma / GED

What You'll Do:

  • Attend Staff Training (Begins late May)
  • Live with and lead a cabin of kids or teens (assigned same birth-sex) through camp activities, chapel times, discussions, and schedules.
  • Trained to teach or assist in camp activities, skits, games, and songs
  • Coach, encourage and lead junior staff (L.I.T.s)
  • Facilitate cabin discussions and Bible studies
  • Participate in spiritual growth opportunities at camp including staff ministry teams, chapels, worship events, and prayer times
  • Participate in fun camp activities alongside campers including high rope activities, horse corral, Laser tag, waterfront activities, etc.
  • Pray with and counsel campers on personal and spiritual issues they are facing

For Bonus Points:

  • You've had a prior positive Christian camping experience
  • You've been on staff here or at another camp before
  • You're known as the friend who listens and whom others rely on in times of need
  • You are a former Trout camper or staff member
