Accounting Staff
Job Summary
The Accounting Staff is a key member of the Trout and Converge North Central (CNC) team and an essential part of Trout Lake Camps' ministry. At Trout our core beliefs dictate how we serve and minister to others be it campers, parents, volunteers, interns, summer and year-round staff. This is a full-time ministry position, in which our heart, commitment, and attitude of reflecting Jesus should be evident to everyone as we communicate the essence of the Gospel.
This position is directly accountable to our Finance and Special Projects Director. The core duty and responsibility of the Accounting Staff member is to manage the financial operations of Trout Lake Camps and CNC. This staff member will concentrate on facilitating financial best practices, identifying issues and strategizing solutions to help Trout and CNC run efficiently.
To be successful, this position must coordinate efforts with the following key areas: CNC Staff, Trout Finance Department and Budget Managers.
Year-Round
• Ensuring the accuracy of financial documentation, as well as compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Coordinating timely and accurate completion of monthly reports with the Bookkeeper and Finance Director.
• Assisting in the production and management of Finance SOPs for use of Raiser's Edge and Financial Edge.
• Reconciling Trout and CNC's bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers.
• Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly and yearly
close processes.
• Initiating payroll process.
• Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations.
• Preparing CNC's financial portion of Board Reports.
• Attending weekly meetings as assigned.
• Coordinating best practices with CNC staff and RE.
• Managing and collecting information requested for financial audits.
• Assisting in the management of Trout's HR system, keeping employee records accurate and up to date.
Other Job Duties
• Attend Trout Year-Round Staff trainings as scheduled.
• Assist Trout office staff as scheduled.
• Accurately recording hours worked in Buddy Punch or other time recording software.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree with full-time experience in finance. Relevant financial ministry experience is preferred.
• Ability to communicate complex financial data through reports and updates.
• Thorough knowledge of necessary accounting procedures and principles.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent accounting software and administrative skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Enthusiastic and demonstrates concern for organizational excellence.

• The employee will represent Converge North Central and Trout Lake Camps in a positive light in all conversations, both on and off the job, to guests, volunteers, and fellow employees.

• When work is not available in this area, the employee may be asked to assist in other areas as needed.
• A background check and completion of the MinistrySafe program are required and must be successfully completed prior to employment.
• The position will average from 40 to 48 hours per week on an annual basis. This means that some weeks in the summer may require 48+ hours per week be worked. Other weeks during the off-season may require fewer hours per week. Because of the nature of this position flexibility is required in the hours that can be worked.
