Housekeeping Manager

The Housekeeping Manager is a key member of the Trout Lake Camps team and an essential part of Trout's ministry. At Trout our core beliefs dictate how we serve and minister to others be it campers, parents, volunteers, interns, summer and year-round staff. This is a full-time ministry position, in which our heart, commitment, and attitude of reflecting Jesus should be evident to everyone as we communicate the essence of the Gospel.

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for providing or coordinating housekeeping/janitorial services for Trout Lake Camps. The Housekeeping Manger supervises the housekeeping team, apostleship staff assigned to this area as well as Summer staff, Dteam staff and any volunteers or work crews. Safe, Fun, Gospel is the foundation of the Trout experience. The Housekeeping Manager is directly accountable to the Operations Director.

While the Housekeeping Manager is accountable to the Operations Director, there are times when the Executive Director may provide direction. To be successful, this position must coordinate their efforts with all other departments.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Year Round
• Supervising the Asst. Housekeeping Manager, Hourly Staff and Apostleship Staff assigned to this area.
• Making sure all facilities are clean and serviceable before the arrival of guests. This includes the following:
   - Guest lodging areas, all cabins, Shalom, The Cottage, and staff housing.
   - Restroom facilities.
   - Board Rooms (TR Program staff assume this responsibility in the summer).
• Maintaining an "everything clean and prepared for every event" concept.
• Utilizing ASANA for daily information regarding guest groups.
• Responding in a timely manner to housekeeping requests.
• Communicating with the ADP – Guest Services regarding guest group facility and housing needs.
• Communicating with the Registrar regarding in-house programmed event facility and housing needs.
• Purchasing supplies and equipment necessary for carrying out job within budget guidelines.
• Informing the Operations Director of any routine or specific maintenance on facilities (lights, doorknobs, furniture, door screens, windows, etc.) that they are unable to fix.
• Hiring, scheduling, and supervising staff as necessary to carry out responsibilities within budget guidelines.
• Teaching all staff how to properly clean to a high standard of clean.
• Supervising all cleaning crews.
• Preparing all fireplace areas.
   - Training staff to light fires and stock supplies
• Turning on & off night lights around camp.
• Be on call or schedule on call staff for emergencies.

Tri-Season
• Checking all assigned facilities prior to arrival of guest groups/events.
   - Thursday check, Friday ready to go concept...
• Shoveling & sanding Shalom walkways in winter.
• Cleaning along-side crews.
• Creating applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Creating and organization of documents and signage.

Summer
• Supervising assigned summer and Dteam staff.
• Checking all assigned facilities prior to the start of each camp week.
   - Every Friday/Saturday clean Shalom, all health lodges, etc.
• Watering flowers on grounds.

Other Job Duties
• Minister to fellow staff, summer staff, Dteam, volunteers, campers and guests according to our beliefs founded in God's word.
• Checking and responding to voicemails, emails, and camp mailbox on a regular basis.
• Building and maintain relationships with past and present Trout staff.
• Working weekends and other irregular hours as deemed necessary.
• Being on call for emergencies.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• RAMP reports., etc. as necessary.
• Attending all related staff meetings as required.
• Attending and leading all departmental meetings as scheduled.
• Recording hours worked in Buddy Punch or other time recording software.
• Taking advantage of continuing education opportunities as available within budgetary guidelines.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Operations Director or Executive Director

Qualifications and Requirements
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Housekeeping or Janitorial services preferred.
• Highly organized, flexible individual with experience in multi-tasking, creative thinking, problem solving, and teamwork.
• Ability to communicate in multiple written and electronic formats.
• Able to meet deadlines and communicate effectively with other camp departments.
• Knowledge of general facilities and equipment operation.
• Good "people skills."
• Organizational and communication skills.
• Willing to learn and demonstrate concern for organizational excellence.

Other Information
• Individual must be in agreement with the Converge North Central Statement of Belief.
• The employee will not act in a way that contradicts, undermines, or opposes our core ministry principles (see Mission, Culture, and Belief Statements).
• As a member of Trout's ministry staff, you may be assigned to a different role than the one you were hired for. At all times, no matter what you are given to do, Cabin Buddy, Skills Class Instructor, lead a group of Dteamers or a group of campers, etc., you are expected to act in accordance with Trout's ministry principles.
• The employee will represent Converge North Central and Trout Lake Camps in a positive light in all conversations, both on and off the job, to guests, volunteers, and fellow employees.
• Caring relationships support all of our work.
• When work is not available in this area, the employee may be asked to assist in other areas as needed.
• A background check and completion of the MinistrySafe program are required and must be successfully completed prior to employment.
• The position will average from 40 to 48 hours per week on an annual basis. This means that some weeks in the summer may require 48+ hours per week be worked. Other weeks during the off-season may require fewer hours per week. Because of the nature of this position flexibility is required in the hours that can be worked.

This is a salaried position listed at $42,000/yr.
