Site Director - The Point

Job Summary
The Site Director at The Point is a key member of the program leadership team. The person in this position works with the Executive Director and Leadership Team in the behind-the-scenes planning, up-front leadership and coordination of all programmed camps, retreats, and activities at Trout Lake Camps with particular emphasis on summer programming at The Point. This person also supervises staff and volunteers assigned. This is a full-time ministry position, in which our heart, commitment, and attitude of reflecting Jesus should be evident to staff and guests. Safe, Fun, Gospel is the foundation of the Trout experience. The Site Director - The Point is directly accountable to the Executive Director.

Year-Round
While this position is directly accountable to the Executive Director there are times when the leadership team may provide direction. To be successful, this position must coordinate their efforts with the following key positions: The Site Director - Timber Ridge, Site Director - Wild Woods, Program Support Director, and Operations Director.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Year-Round
• Making necessary programming decisions working within established policy and industry standards.
• Identifying and resolving complex problems with staff, guests, and campers as needed.
• Managing and working within a budget.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Overseeing and directing the efforts of the Trout Recruiter.

Tri-Season
• Designing, coordinating, and leading tri-season programming at The Point and assigned retreats.
• Helping to facilitate and coordinate staff training events involving all summer staff and volunteers.
• Providing oversight and training of multiple program departments (craft, recreation, & worship).

Summer
• Designing, coordinating, and leading summer programming at The Point, Trout's 4th – 6th grade campus.
• Creating the schedule and submitting for approval and proofing three days before the start of each camp week.
• Managing the focus, goals, and responsibilities of Trout Lake Camps' The Point staff.
• Providing "gap filling" for summer staff as assigned/needed.

Other Job Duties
• Providing leadership of camp functions in the absence of Executive Director.
• Being available for emergencies as needed.
• Checking and responding to voicemails & emails on a regular basis.
• Financial reporting – RAMP reports., etc. as necessary.
• Building & maintaining relationships with past and present Trout staff.
• Attending all related staff meetings as required.
• Attending all departmental meetings as scheduled.
• Recording hours worked in Buddy Punch or other time recording software.
• Taking advantage of continuing education opportunities as available within budgetary guidelines.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications and Requirements
• Master's Degree preferred, Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 5 years' full-time experience in Christian camping or a ministry setting.
• Highly organized and flexible individual with experience in multi-tasking, creative thinking, problem solving, and teamwork.
• Proven communication skills – written and oral.
• Able to meet deadlines and communicate effectively with other camp departments to meet programming needs.
• Ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, photo, social media platforms, web browsers, and video editing software in a Mac environment.
• Enthusiastic person who demonstrates concern for organizational excellence.
• First Aid Certified and CPR Certified preferred but not required.

Other Information
• When work is not available in this area, the employee may be asked to assist in other areas as needed.
• The employee will represent Trout Lake Camps in a positive light in all conversations, both on and off the job, to guests, volunteers, and fellow employees.
• A background check and completion of the MinistrySafe program are required and must be successfully completed prior to employment.
• The position will average from 40 to 48 hours per week on an annual basis. This means that some weeks in the summer may require 48+ hours per week be worked. Other weeks during the off-season may require fewer hours per week. Because of the nature of this position flexibility is required in the hours that can be worked.
• Individual is encouraged to receive Boat Safety certification.
• Individual must be in agreement with the Converge North Central Statement of Belief.

This salaried position is listed at $56,000/year.
